Saldes

In addition to Saldes, there are two other important villages in the north of the region of El Berguedà: Massaners and L’Espà. Saldes lies in the foot of the mountain of El Pedraforca and is characterised by its ancient houses with wooden balconies and wide projecting roofs. Special attention must be paid to the he parochial church of Sant Martí de Saldes, which was already mentioned in 839 in the Act of Consecration of the cathedral of La Seu d’Urgell. Saldes has a disperse population; a good example of it is the village of Massaners, at an altitude of 1,240 meters and from which we can admire the amazing perspective of the emblematic Pedraforca. Since 1985, a crowded event for accordionists to meet is held in this village
