Joan Brudieu is considered to be one of the greatest composers in the 16th century in Catalan-speaking territories. He arrived to the county town of Alt Urgell as a singer from the diocese of Limoges (France) and remained there until his death in 1591. His Missa de Difunts (Funeral mass) or Rèquiem, whose original copy is in the Capitular Archives of La Seu d’Urgell, is the main piece of this personal production of the Festival, which was performed for the first time last year within the framework of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the festival.
