Tremp is the capital of the Pallars Jussà. Its natural environment is very diverse, with the Montsec range, the Voltors valley or the Montllobar or Lleràs mountains. It is also a land of castles and medieval towers, for this reason we find many in different states of conservation. In the main square there is Sta. Maria Valldeflors (XVII century), an example of late Gothic in which there are still Romanesque remains. This was classified as historical monument of Bé d'Interès Cultural (heritage of cultural interest) in 2006.
