Espot

Espot is a village in the Valls d’Àneu located in the river Escrita valley on the edge of the National Park of Aigüestortes and the Sant Maurici Lake. The proximity to the park and to the alpine ski resorts of Súper Espot has turned the area transforming it into an ideal place for the tourism in winter and in summer. In the municipality there are also more than 20 glacial lakes and the hills of Ratera, Subenuix, Pui de Linyà, Amitges and the Encants, among others. Despite of the changes in the recent years, the Espot urban centre keeps the charm of an ancient tradition, built with stone, wood and slate. In the town, a medieval tower that rises above the village and two Romanesque bridges that cross the river are also preserved.
