Les Timbres go deep inside J.S. Bach’s conceptual work, composed without specifying the instruments it was aimed at, and full of other questions: is it unfinished? Is it his last work, his musical testament? How many messages does it hide? However, there is one certainty: we are before the apotheoses of the counterpointistic style and of one of the greatest achievements of the western classical music. The collection is presented in the form of pure music where the “decorative” issues (performance, instrumentation and ornamentation) disappear in front of the immensity of the musical matter. Emotion is immediate and the audience is transported to a musical world whose architecture is so deep and intense, that it experiences a real inner journey.
