Vall de Boí

The ultimate expression of Catalan Romanesque art lies in the valley Vall de Boí. Eight churches and a chapel of the same architectural style, grouped in a very small space and declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2000, significantly preserve their initial state. A very important fact in the municipality, since the architectural structure and traditional buildings of the villages have been preserving over the years. But the Vall de Boí is much more than Romanesque. Aigüestortes National Park is the only national park in Catalonia, with peaks over 3000 meters high, rivers, lakes and ravines that make it a unique place in Southern Europe. For snow lovers, there is the highest ski resort in the Pyrenees, with one of the most complete snow parks in the area. After the variety of sports offered by the Vall de Boí, such as canyoning, horse riding, climbing, snowshoeing or paragliding, we can go to relax in Caldes de Boí, into the spa with more variety of water located 1500 meters high. All this added to the high rooting cultural traditions, cuisine and crafts, make the valley a remarkable landscape of the Pyrenees.
