Pesillà de la Ribera

Located in the north of Catalonia and, specifically, in the region of the Rosselló, Pesillà de la Ribera belongs to the territory of El Riberal de la Tet, which has an intense agricultural activity, especially that of wine production with Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO). The village has medieval origins and is thought to have been built around the parochial church of Sant Feliu. One of the medieval elements that is still preserved is the Portal of Revellí: one of the principal front doors of the old, closed centre, since the village was surrounded by city walls in the past. Wandering around its streets, we can still notice the village’s circular shape. Apart from its medieval history, it is also highlighting the Iberian and Roman past of the territory, as several archaeological researches show.
