Estamariu

On the outskirts of Estamariu we find the Romanesque church of Sant Vicenç, an example of Lombard architecture that was found in ruins. But in the early nineties of the XX century they began church restoration. It was then when they discovered the remains of some Romanesque paintings of high artistic quality in the apse and in the side apses. Since then, efforts have been focused on a complete restoration of the church, that included searching for any other original pigment that could be found either inside or outside of the building.
