Soprano Marta Mathéu has set herself up as one of the most versatile voices of the Catalan stage. During her solo career, she has brilliantly performed repertoires of all kinds and styles, always marking her performances with outstanding timbre and musicality. During the last few years, Marta has recorded with Jordi Savall as well as Mompou music, premiered an opera by Francesc Cassú, made her debut at the Liceu Theatre … She is thus an all-round artist. Although this is not the first time she takes part in our festival, this time, in the frame of its own 2023 production, the FeMAP invited her to star and give voice to a special moment of the Catalan sacred music through a trip that will start at Tarragona cathedral and finish at Naples, by way of Barcelona cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar, Canet de Mar and Toledo, among other stops. The trip will be quite convulsive, full of contradictions and discussions, from Baroque style to classicism and war, and to the trend that will prevail in the next few years.
